A tunnel connecting the Imam Al-Hussain underground hall to the Expansion underground hall at the Al-Abbas Holy Shrine.
Challenges
Opening the tunnel meant cutting through a concrete wall and reinforced piles with a total thickness of 2.1 metres. Unconventional methods were used for the cutting, the excavation and the later stages of construction.
